What is The Best Hair Removal Method For You?
|Do you ever feel overwhelmed by the amount of hair removal products out there? Well, don’t worry. I’m going to give you the pros and cons of each one so that you can pick the best option for you. First off, there are so many tools out there that remove hair from the root.
One of your options is threading. Cotton thread is twisted around the individual hairs to pull them out. I love threading for things like my eyebrows. But it’s really time-consuming, so I wouldn’t use it on larger areas. Plus, you have to go in to a professional to have it done.
Next, there’s waxing. Warm wax is placed on the skin, and then it’s removed with cloth strips. Waxing tends to be pretty messy and pretty painful. Plus, it doesn’t get the shorter hairs. So you have to allow the hairs to get long before you can pull them out. Not my favorite.
I personally prefer epilating. Epilating will give you smooth skin for up to four weeks. And you can get those shorter hairs that you can’t with waxing. Epilating works by using little rotating tweezers to remove hair right at the root. Plus, there are no harsh chemicals like in wax.
So it’s great if you have sensitive skin like me. I use the Braun Silk-epil 9 SkinSpa. This thing is great. I just move it along my body, and it removes the hair as I go. It comes with various attachments for the different parts of your body.
You can use it in the bath or shower, which will make it a little bit more comfortable. If you want to epilate your face, I recommend using the Braun Face, and it also comes with various attachments for exfoliation. OK, so now on to surface hair removal techniques. These are quick and easy.
But you have to do them more often, because you’re just cutting the hair, rather than removing it from the root. OK, your first option is depilatory creams. These chemically dissolve your hair right at the surface. They’re inexpensive, but they can be tricky to use, and they’re pretty smelly.
Also, they can really irritate your skin. So make sure you just test it on a small patch of skin first. Next, there’s the electric shaver. This is quick, easy to use, and you can do it dry. But make sure you replace the blade once a year.
Mostly, I like shaving with a razor, particularly one with five blades, because you’ll get a closer shave. That way, you’ll stay smoother longer. I like using the Venus Swirl. It has this great Flexiball which really adapts to the contours of my skin in tricky areas.
Make sure you shave during or after a warm bath or shower. That way, your skin is nice and soft. Also, using a shave gel will hydrate your hair and protect your skin. I like using the Satin Care Sensitive Skin Gel.
So there you have it. I hope that that helped you figure out the best hair removal method for you. If you’d like to learn more shaving and hair removal tips for women be sure to check out these other articles. Also, I’d love to hear what your favorite hair removal methods are in the comments.
